Enrico Isaia founded Isaia fabric shop in 1920 in the city of Naples, famous, of course, for its Neapolitan style and flair.
In the fifties, three Isaia brothers, Corrado, Rosario and Enrico moved the business to a little village just outside Naples called Casalnouvo, where the majority of male residents were tailors!
The red coral which is the basis of the famous Isaia logo stems from Greek mythology: Perseus, the hero, used the severed head of the Medusa to kill the Kraken, a huge sea monster. Then he sat down to wash his hands in the ocean, and the blood of the Medusa seeped into the water, which formed into red coral. Owing to this story, in Naples, red coral is considered to be lucky. So, the Isaia symbol is actually one of good luck and fortune.
Isaia retains its Neapolitan traditions to this day, whilst pushing forward with innovative features, fabrics and trends.
In North America, Isaia is available in only the most prestigious menswear retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Louis Boston, Bergdorf Goodman and Stanley Korshak. However, if you wish to shop for Isaia, then Sartoriale has fantastic deals on Isaia one-of-a-kind pieces from across the range.
