Rubinacci Napoli History

During the 18th Century, the Rubinacci family from Naples were importers from India, providing silks to local tailors and furniture makers. In 1932, Gennaro Rubinacci founded London House. This was chosen as the name as London was renowned as being the epitome of men's tailoring.

Gennaro held a special position within the aristocracy of Naples. He was known as an arbiter elegantiarum and his advice was much in demand when attending a fitting, to opine on fabrics, cuts and styles.

In those times, fittings were as much about socialising as tailoring, and so at its inception Rubinacci was what may be considered a gentlemen's club of today. 

Throughout its history, the house of Rubinacci has fostered innovative artisans such as Vincenzo Attolini who created the famous Neapolitan suit. His successor, Antonio Panico was an innovator in the design of extra light jackets to be worn in summer.
